Carlstadt 6-alarm brush fire
Wed. Apr 11th 2012

At 13:30 hours, Carlstadt Fire Command requested an engine company respond to cover the Jefferson Street firehouse as the Carlstadt FD battled a brush fire on Paterson Plank Road, just north of the Meadowlands Sports Complex.  Chief Clemente and E905 responded and were redirected to the staging area at Paterson Plank Road.  With the fire quickly growing, E902 was also requested to respond to the scene.  Along with South Bergen mutual aid companies, a Bergen County tanker task force and the NJ Forest Fire Service, the WR units operated at numerous spots in the Meadowlands controlling the blaze and keeping the exposure buildings safe.  All WR units were back in service at 21:00 hours.
